Located in Phoenix, Arizona, Habitat for Humanity, Valley of the Sun is an independent affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International. Our mission is to strengthen our community by providing home ownership opportunities for low-income working families through the use of donated materials, zero percent (0%) interest mortgages and volunteer labor in partnership with our families.

An estimated 1.25 million people in Arizona are in need of affordable housing. The need continues to increase as Arizona is growing about three times as fast as the nation, placing phoenix as the 5th largest city in the nation. Phoenix recently beat out Atlanta as the top home-building market. Analysts say housing will remain at this pace for the next 25 years. This boom still has not kept up with the population growth and has strained the already diminutive supply of affordable housing for low-income families. This means that there is a monetary increase in materials and land and a declining affordability for home buyers.

To continue to build more homes, we need more land. The Valley affiliate was the first in the U.S. to build homes in community. The South Ranch Habitat community in Phoenix is a real success story, and a second Habitat community in South Phoenix is slated for completion in 2006.

Now we need a third large parcel of land to build a third new neighborhood. If you're in a position to donate land, consider the benefits:
